Defense of the Ancients (DotA) is a custom scenario for Warcraft III, based on the 'Aeon of Strife' map for StarCraft. The objective of the scenario is to destroy the opponents' 'Ancient'. DotA stands for Defense of the Ancients – a MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) game. DotA is a Warcraft 3 custom map, playable in RoC and TFT. 10 players join two teams and fight against each other in 5v5 fights.
